Optional Income Rider

  • Issue Ages: 40-80
  • Benefit Base: Premium, plus 10% Benefit Base Bonus on first-year premiums, compounded at 4% plus weighted average index/interest credits, up to 10 years
  • Income Withdrawal: May begin after 1st year and age 50
  • Enhanced Income Withdrawals: Income withdrawal amount increased by 100% for single-life owner (50% for joint owners) for up to five years in event of chronic Illness or permanent severe cognitive impairment
  • Issue Requirements: Must be elected at issue. Owner & annuitant must be same person
  • Rider Charge: 0.95% of the Accumulation Value, annually

Each EquiTrust Index Annuity features a unique income benefit rider (IBR) that pays lifetime income even if the contract's Accumulation Value is depleted.

Competitive IBR Features
  • Rider payments may be doubled for up to 5 years in the event of a chronic illness (up to 50% for joint owners); included at no additional cost.
    • No confinement required – 2 of 6 Activities of Daily Living
    • Also applied to Extreme Permanent Cognitive Impairment
    • Withdrawals may continue even if the accumulation value is depleted
    • Approved in all states
  • Upon spousal continuation of lifetime payments, income continues even if Accumulation Value is depleted
  • Annual fee is based on the contract's Accumulation Value – not the faster-growing Benefit Base

 

Competitive Rollup Designs

The Benefit Base is equal to all premiums and premium bonuses, less withdrawals, compounded at a defined rate, for either 7 or 10 years. The faster the Benefit Base accumulates, the greater the income.

1-Year Interest 
The fixed rate is guaranteed for one contract year. On contract anniversaries the rate may change subject to the contractual Minimum Guaranteed Interest Rate. All subsequent premiums received are applied to this account until the contract anniversary, then allocated per your instructions. The Minimum Guaranteed Interest Rate is 1.0%

S&P 500 1-Year Point-to-Point Cap 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the S&P 500® Index from the previous contract anniversary, up to a specified cap. The minimum cap is 1.0%.

S&P 500 1-Year Point-to-Point Participation 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the S&P 500® Index from the previous contract anniversary, multiplied by the participation rate. The minimum participation rate is 10.0%.

S&P 500 1-Year Monthly Average Cap 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the S&P 500® Index from the previous contract anniversary to monthly index average, up to a specified cap. The minimum cap is 1.0%.

S&P 500 1-Year Monthly Average Participation 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the S&P 500® Index monthly average from the previous contract anniversary, multiplied by the participation rate. The minimum participation rate is 10.0%.

S&P 500 1-Year Monthly Cap 
Index credits are based on the cumulative sum of capped monthly changes in the S&P 500® Index from the previous contract anniversary. Each monthly gain is subject to a cap, but monthly declines are not subject to a floor. The minimum cap is 0.5%.

S&P 500 2-Year Monthly Average Cap 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the S&P 500® Index from the previous two-year contract anniversary to the monthly index average, up to a specified cap over a two-year period. The minimum cap is 3.0%.

Focus50 1-Year Point-to-Point Participation 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the Barclays Focus50 IndexTM from the previous contract anniversary, multiplied by the participation rate. The minimum participation rate is 10.0%.

Focus50 2-Year Point-to-Point Participation 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the Barclays Focus50 IndexTM from the previous two-year contract anniversary, multiplied by the participation rate. The minimum participation rate is 10.0%.

MARC 5% 1-Year Point-to-Point Participation 
Index credits are based on the percentage change in the S&P MARC 5% Excess Return Index from the previous contract anniversary, multiplied by the participation rate. The minimum participation rate is 10.0%.


Rate Hold
If the initial premium is not received with the application but is received within 60 days, the contract/policy will be credited with the higher of the rates on the date of receipt of the application and the rates for new issues on the date the premium is received.
