SIGNED CONTRACT REQUIRED BY YOUR AGENTS NO LATER THAN 3/1/24

Thank you for signing the updated EquiTrust contract. There may be agents within your hierarchy who have not yet signed the contract. They will be receiving the notice below on Feb. 7. You may request a list of your EquiTrust agents who still need to sign the contract from your RVP or Sales Support.

All commissionable agents and entities are required to sign the updated contract before March 1, 2024, to continue doing business with and being paid commissions by EquiTrust. On March 1, 2024, for those who have not yet signed the new contract:

  • Agent Gateway credentials will be inactivated, which means access will be removed for:
    • Clients’ business information (active and pending business)
    • E-Application platforms
    • Most service forms
    • Details about agent incentives
  • New business received will not be processed
  • Commissions will not be released and paid

Failure to sign the updated contract will ultimately result in agents' EquiTrust contracts being terminated.

Why did EquiTrust update the agent contract?

We’ve made several important updates. The new contract includes:

  • Increased data security measures
  • Addition of HIPAA language for the Bridge® long-term care/fixed index annuity product
  • Our Business Guidelines as an addendum
  • Opt-in election for EquiTrust communications
  • Future ability to assign commissions

How will the signing process work?

It’s easy, and all online. Check your email for a message with “Action Needed” in the subject line. The email will be sent to only one email address we have on file for the agent or entity.

It will contain the new contract and allow you to sign via DocuSign, then submit directly to us. Once complete, your work will be done. When you receive the email:

  • Click the button inside to access your contract.
  • Review the contract, then follow directions to sign it electronically via DocuSign.
  • Download or print the contract for your records.
  • Verify your contact information by confirming the pre-populated details or provide updates directly through the DocuSign process. There's no need to wait to sign the contract if your information needs updating. These actions happen concurrently through the same process via DocuSign.

More details

  • The contract represents an agreement between you as the agent/agency and EquiTrust.
  • It designates EquiTrust as the payer of commissions responsible for commission schedules, chargebacks, collections, tax reporting and Vector reporting.
  • Commission schedules are available on the Agent Gateway, with notice of updates communicated via email.
  • Privacy obligations relative to client information are defined.
