A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) form [ET-QUAL-CHAR-DIST (03-23)] is now available on the Agent Gateway. Clients may use this form to request some or all of their Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) be sent to a charitable organization. To access the form, log in to the Agent Gateway, click "Forms & Supplies," then "Forms" and search by form name or number. Please refer to the following guidelines prior to submitting a form:
EquiTrust will process to one charity each tax year.
Each subsequent tax year, a new QCD form will be required.
If a partial RMD amount is being sent to a charity, a separate RMD form is required to receive the remainder of the RMD.

IRA forms mailed
Your clients with IRAs will be receiving Form 5498 (IRA Contribution Information) soon. The forms were mailed to IRA holders on May 23. The information on Form 5498 reports contributions (including any catch-up contributions) to Traditional IRA and Roth IRA accounts attributed to tax year 2022. Reminder: contributions to SEP and SIMPLE plans are reported on the 2022 Form 5498 for the calendar year in which they are received by the Company, meaning the form will reflect contributions received in 2022, including contributions made in 2022 for 2021, but not including contributions made in 2023 for 2022.

Death claims service update
We’ve updated our death claims policy to accept legible copies of death certificates for contracts where the death benefit is less than $250,000. This change will go into effect on June 1, 2023. Please note that this does not apply to the following scenarios:
The deceased owner is being criminally investigated
The total value of the contract is more than $250,000
A U.S. national’s death occurs in a foreign country (original consular’s report required)
